Abayomi Brownfield is an artist and educator who currently resides in Sacramento, California. She utilizes textiles, painting, and illustration to explore Afro-Indigenous traditional ways of being and redefining womanhood. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mills College in an Individualized Major, African Decoloniality in Art and history, and is currently pursuing her Master’s at McGeorge School of Law studying Public Administration. She visualizes what it means to connect with the body as a divine vessel, creating personal narratives and mythologies that are healing & reclaiming space. Abayomi holds pride in continuing the legacy of Black & African artists' ability to transcend time, and space and visualize their own futures.
